I really like this place. What can I say? Anywhere with an old piano is likely to get my vote. It's friendly and cosy and down to earth. They research their vegan cheese. They understand kids. They have boardgames. You can go as a group for anything from a coffee to a meal to a milkshake and everyone is catered for, as there are decent vegan options. (Ok if you can't go even one meal without meat then maybe skip this place, but you'd be missing out on good brews, cakes and orgasimic milkshakes). I ordered the burger and the chips it came with were homemade, plentiful and bloody lovely. Did I mention vegan brownies AND milkshakes?? ♡
So me and my friend visited boho in January. We weren’t wowed but we weren’t completely disgraced and put off returning (drink and a cake on this visit). We both thought about writing a review but on coming on here and seeing some of the awful things people had said recently we decided the girls who work there, who are so nice and lovely, didn’t deserve it. Yesterday we had some free time so headed on down after seeing Facebook updates on menu changes and some maintenance being done. Wow what a pleasant and amazing turn around. The cafe was warm, smell free, clean and felt/looked welcoming. We received our drinks within a couple of minutes and were advised when ordering food that it would take around 20 mins (perfect! Time for a quick game of scrabble and a natter). Also spotted a little board behind the till/counter that advised food waiting time which I thought was brilliant. Our breakfast wraps arrived and although they were out of black pudding it was still amazing and the beans on it were something to die for. From reading the reviews previously I’d spotted people had mentioned the 1* rating so asked one of the girls about this. I’m a qualified chef so know it isn’t just based on the food area, all other aspects are involved and was happy to hear the girls had had a rescore which was a massive improvement. I totally forgot to take a picture of my food and drink but I was too excited for my hot choc and hadn’t eaten all morning so couldn’t wait to eat my wrap. All I’d say to anyone who reads the reviews first before attending, don’t let others put you off, especially the bad. Everyone’s perceptions and preferences are different and just because they didn’t enjoy it doesn’t mean you won’t love it like I did. I’d definitely go again (today if I wasn’t so busy and every day of the week if work didn’t exist) but it’s definitely my mission to get all my friends there. I’m also not a vegan and love meat but really enjoyed the food which I was shocked about. Thanks for the lovely visit girls I’ll be back soon xx
I’ve popped in a few times since opening & only just getting round to reviewing. The girls who set up & run this cafe have put their hearts into everything. It has evolved over time (menu, decor, staff, events & organisation) & I think they’re now hitting the sweet spot. The menu isn’t over complicated & the shakes are outstanding (although vegan options mean not quite as extensive). Today I went in & had a delicious shake whilst breastfeeding my daughter, I felt very comfortable & welcome as well as very satisfied with my tasty drink.
